Chiropractic is safe, non-invasive, drugless, and effective manual therapy for correcting the underlying cause of many health concerns:
Chiropractic is essentially founded on 3 basic principles:
Chiropractic occupies its own unique place in modern health care; not only does it draw upon modern scientific knowledge and techniques, it also utilizes the concepts of self-healing, life energy, and natural healing.
During standing and walking our bodies are subjected to the natural forces that can inflict mechanical stress and strain throughout our joints. When foot imbalance is present there is a negative impact in the knees, hips, back, and neck. This imbalance must be removed for to achieve improved posture and alignment. Orthotics correct this imbalance by improving the biomechanics of the body leading to relief of pains throughout the body.
Cold Laser therapy is a modality that is easy to apply, non-invasive, painless, drug-free, and supported by scientific research. It is a therapy that uses the body’s own natural healing systems to relieve pain, increase joint mobility, and promote cell regeneration. A chiropractor is able to be precise regarding tissues or conditions to be treated, thus broadening the scope of healing services that Dr. Neff can provide the patient. Lasers work
by supplying energy to the body in the form of photons of
pure light energy. The body absorbs this light energy and
transforms it into biochemical energy, which the body then uses to
commence its own tissue repair. The bio-stimulating effect
causes a decrease in inflammation and pain, and an increase in
tissue regeneration and healing.
The benefits and research of therapeutic laser therapy show that patients heal faster with some patients even getting immediate results. Laser therapy is an effective and affordable tool for treating a multitude of conditions, and is safe to be used in combination with other treatments.
Massage practice is a therapeutic, integral healing relationship in which the therapist assists the client in restoring, maintaining, and enhancing the well-being of the client. It is most often used in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, such as low back pain, neck pain, whiplash, and headaches. In conjunction with Chiropractic adjustments, patients can receive relief of symptoms associated with these conditions and recover more quickly. The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body, and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, or augment physical function, or to relieve pain. (Massage Therapy Act, 1991) Massage therapists will use orthopedic assessments, hands-on therapy, and self-care for the client (in the form of stretching and strengthening exercises, biomechanical suggestions, hydrotherapy, etc.) Massage therapy is also frequently used for palliative care, maternal and infant health, and to reduce common symptoms associated with stress, including sleep disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Acupuncture is a 2000-year-old Chinese treatment in which needles are inserted into specific points on the body. The World Health Organization (WHO) lists approximately four-dozen different conditions that can legitimately be treated by acupuncture. In 1999, the WHO published a document with guidelines for training and safety in which they recommended 200 hours of formal training. Dr. Neff has received 300 hours of training at McMaster University through the Department of Anaesthesia. Most successful applications of acupuncture are for pain problems, particularly acute and chronic muscle and joint pain. These include but are not limited to acute sprains and strains, muscle pain, arthritic pain, shoulder, neck and low back pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fascitis, achilles tendonitis, migraine and tension headaches. Acupuncture may also be of help as an extra treatment for digestive problems such as irritable bowel, constipation and diarrhea, respiratory problems such as sinusitis and bronchitis, and uncomplicated psycho-emotional problems such as stress, anxiety and insomnia. Contemporary Medical Acupuncture is a therapeutic intervention defined from a biomedical standpoint. It consists of the stimulation of the peripheral nervous system with acupuncture needles and electricity in order to induce the responses for the therapeutic purpose of treating pain, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and selected states of functional disregulation. |
